Welcome to the biggest virtual restaurant, the place where you donate all the food you would like to eat.

Here, you have a table booked every day and you can order whatever you want. However, instead of eating your favourite food, you will fast and donate the value of the food to the children who go to bed hungry.

In Moldova, we have 680 000 children. One in eight children lives in poverty and one in five has one or both parents working abroad. Most of them are from the rural area of the country, the gap rural-urban is increasing, 38% of children growing up in villages live below the poverty line in comparison with 13% from the urban areas, according to the data available in the Situation Analysis of the vulnerable children in Moldova between 2011-2016, UNICEF Moldova.

According to the Annual Social Report for 2015, which is last issue, 13% of Moldova’s children live in absolute poverty and 0.1% in extreme poverty. As in the previous years, children are affected by poverty to a higher degree than the adults. Most of the times, this situation forces their parents to abandon them in state care, in orphanages, where they have food, but little or no affection. How many of us can say we know what these children are going through?

Fasting with a Purpose is an initiative of Hope and Homes for Children which involves well-known or less famous supporters of the organization and aims to give purpose to the Christmas, Easter and other Fasting Times throughout the year. This is an excellent initiative, which we are trying to extend to our country as well. Therefore, we challenge people to go all out and live through a whole day without eating and donating the value of the meals for that day to the children who survive with less than what we spend for a cup of coffee.

CCF Moldova (representative of Hope and Homes for Children) is an NGO whose programmes and objectives work towards replacing the traditional child protection system with a system based on family and on preventing the separation of children from their families, as attachment, individual attention, love and stimulation are essential for each child.

In its 16 years of activity in the Republic of Moldova, CCF Moldova, with support from Hope and Homes for Children, has helped more than 5777 children to remain with their families, closed down 10 orphanages housing  1440 children, supported Local Public Authorities all over the country to develop and extend social services based on the needs of the children and their families, supported educational inclusion of over 856 children and brought hope to thousands of families.

These are only some of the achievements of the organization. You can learn more about the activity of the organization here.
